报道了一种新型激光上转换染料, 即反式-4-[4′-(N-羟乙基-N-甲基胺基)苯乙烯基]-N-甲基吡啶对甲苯磺酸盐(trans-4-[4′-(N-hydroxyethyl-N-methylamino) styryl]-N-methylpyridinium toluene-p-sulfonate, 简称HMASPS)的双光子吸收和频率上转换性质. 测试了该染料DMF溶液的线性吸收谱、双光子吸收谱、单光子荧光谱、双光子荧光谱和上转换激光谱, 解释了双光子荧光峰的不对称性和其相对单光子荧光峰的红移现象以及上转换激光峰相对于双光子荧光峰的蓝移现象. 在光强为3.64 GW/cm2条件下, 用开孔Z扫描装置测得该染料在1064 nm处的双光子吸收截面为σ′2 = 6.0×10-48 cm4· s/光子. 在 1064 nm的皮秒脉冲激光的激发下, 可得很强的波长为626 nm的上转换激光, 激光上转换效率最高为8.4%.
