大力发展罗非鱼养殖的主要障碍是雌性过多,使鱼的个体小。采用单性群体是解决这个问题的一个方法,但各种单性处理方法都具有其复杂性。利用性激素诱使性转变有相当大的潜力,可直接培养单性群体,或间接地培育性转变的个体。利用激素转变怀卵种群来培养单性的雄性群体的育苗计划在雌激素处理罗非鱼已部分成功,然而按预定计划的初步试验结果表明:基础理论包括性别测定的根据可能比预期更为复杂。
The main obstacle to developing tilapia farming is that there are too many females and small fish. The use of uniparental populations is one way to solve this problem, but all kinds of uniparent methods have their own complexities. There is considerable potential for using sex hormones to induce sexual transformation, either directly in unicellular populations or indirectly in cultivated individuals. Nursery programs that use hormonally transplanted egg populations to develop unisexual male populations have been partially successful in the estrogen treatment of tilapia, however preliminary results from the planned schedule indicate that the underlying rationale, including the basis for sex determination, may be more complicated than expected .
