Because of Mao Zedong’s “Farewell to Stuart,” a few Chinese people do not know the name of this American, as I am. In the writings of Mao Tse-tung, Stuart is like this: Stuart Leighton is a Chinese born in China with a wide range of social connections in China, a church school that has been in China for many years, a Japanese prison during the Anti-Japanese War, The United States also loves China and quite confuses a part of the Chinese people. Therefore, it is regarded by Marshall as ambassador to China and has become one of the most influential people in Marshall’s system. Most people know that Yenching University should start with the leader’s mantra, “Farewell, Stuart Roden.”
