广州农民运动讲习所是彭湃创办的,最初的会址设在广州市越秀南路96号惠州会馆。1922年3月,彭湃辞去了海丰县教育局长职务,6月间只身深入到离他家不远的赤山约农村,向农民宣传组织农会。在他的努力下,联络了五位热情的青年,组成农会小组开展了发动组织农会工作,不久便建立起赤山约农会。随后,农民运动在全县迅速发展,并扩展到邻近的陆丰、惠阳和紫金。这下可惊动了各地的地主阶级。海丰县的地主阶级头目陈月波首先发难,拉拢军阀陈炯明出兵镇压,解散了海丰农会,把十多位农会负责人投入监狱。1924年4月,彭湃秘密由汕头经香港来广州,准备去上海向党中央汇报。此时,孙中山正实行“联俄、联共、扶助农工”三大政策,国共两党第一次合作,许
Guangzhou peasant movement seminar was founded by Peng Pai, the initial venue is located in Huizhou, Guangzhou 96 Yuexiu Hall. In March 1922, Peng Pai resigned as director of the education bureau of Haifeng County. In June, he went deep into the village of Chishan, not far from his home, to publicize to the peasants the peasant union. With his efforts, five enthusiastic youths were contacted to form a farmer’s group to launch the work of organizing the peasant union and soon to establish the Chisinau peasant association. Subsequently, the peasant movement developed rapidly throughout the county and expanded to neighboring Lufeng, Huiyang and Zijin. This may surprise the landlord class everywhere. Chen Yubo, the leader of the landlords in Haifeng County, made the first major attack and wound up the suppression of the warlord Chen Jiongming to dissolve the Haifeng peasant association and put more than 10 heads of the peasant associations in prison.
