本文通过对《日冕》杂志的分析和对爱默生的《友谊》、《女性》以及福勒的《19世纪的女性》的互文式细读,考察了福勒和爱默生关于文学批评、友谊和女性主义运动的共识与分歧。笔者认为,福勒以其超越时代的远见将超验主义的理论玄思与社会行动结合起来,丰富了超验主义的内涵与外延。她绝非只是爱默生忠实的倾听者,她更是这个美国大思想家最有力的批评者。
This essay examines the relationship between Fowler and Emerson in terms of literary criticism through the analysis of Corona magazine and the intertextual reading of Emerson’s Friendship, Femininity and Fowler’s 19th-Century Females , The consensus and differences between the friendship and feminist movements. In my opinion, Fowler combined transcendentalism with metaphysics and social action with his transcendental vision, enriching the connotation and denotation of transcendentalism. She is by no means just a loyal Emerson listener; she is even the most powerful critic of this great American thinker.
