小麦是我省主要粮食作物之一,居夏粮第一位,但因我省系立体农业,地势气候复杂,单产很低,1978年亩产量最高仅178斤,远远落后于该年全国亩产236斤水平。低产的原因,主要是占小麦播种面积一半以上的旱地小麦,生长期中降雨量不足150毫米,一般无灌溉,再加上多利用春性品种,拔节,抽穗早,易遭寒害,致单产常不足百斤,拖了后腿。小麦夏秋种植能充分利用我省夏秋雨水、热量资源一般亩产200来斤,高的可达三至四百斤,因此,是近几年来我省农业科学研究的一项新成果,它在选种上,可以作到同年内加代选育,鉴定品种冬春性和抗锈
