美国控制论专家查德以模糊集合论为工具来研究自然语言中的模糊性问题,从而开创了模糊语言学这一新的边缘学科。随后“模糊数学”、“模糊逻辑学”、“模糊语言学”、“模糊心理学”等一系列相关理论应运而生。美国哲学家皮尔斯给模糊学下定义:“当事物出现几种可能的状态时,尽管说话者对这些状态进行了仔细的思考,实际上仍不能确定,是把这些状态排除出某个命题,还是归属于这个命题(proposition),这时候,这个命题就是模糊的。实际上不能确定指的并不是由于解释者的无知而不能确定,而是因为说话者的语言的特点就是模糊的。”
US cybernetic expert Richard Chad uses fuzzy set theory as a tool to study fuzziness in natural language, thus creating a new fringe discipline of fuzzy linguistics. Then a series of related theories such as Fuzzy Mathematics, Fuzzy Logic, Fuzzy Linguistics and Fuzzy Psychology came into being. Pierce, the American philosopher, defines fuzziness: “When several possible states of things appear, although the speaker’s careful thinking of these states is still not certain, it is to exclude these states from certain propositions, Or attributed to the proposition, at which point the proposition is ambiguous, and in fact it can not be determined that the signifier is not indefinable due to the ignorance of the interpreter, but because the speaker’s language is characterized by ambiguity. ”"
