团头鲂又名武昌鱼,原产于湖北省鄂城县樊口,鄂城县古代称武昌,因而得名。团头鲂肥嫩鲜美,誉满全国,目前已有二十多个省市养殖。呼和浩特郊区国营鱼种站于一九八二年引进,生长繁殖良好,值得推广养殖。团头鲂一般重1—2斤,最大可重5斤左右。体高而侧扁,呈长菱形,腹部角质棱从腹鳍直达肛门;背鳍硬棘较软,约与头长相等。团头鲂适于在湖泊池塘等静水 Also known as Wuchang fish 团 鲂, native to Hubei Province Echeng Fankou, Echeng County, said Wuchang ancient, hence the name.
