Mr. Lu Xun’s novel “Hometown” describes “I” - an experience of a progressive intellectual moving back home. It is generally believed that the clues of the novel are: returning to his hometown—in his hometown—from his hometown. It is true that this is true, but it seems that we should pay more attention to the profound transformation of the “I” emotions that accompany this experience, namely: expectation—disillusion—the psychological process of regeneration. The “I,” who had been away from his hometown for more than two decades, saw a desolate scene when he returned. “Under the yellowish sky, there are a few bleak and remote villages, and there is no trace of living.” In the memory of “I,” the homeland is much better. “But I must remember his beauty and say what his best place is, but there is no image, and there is speech.” So “I” had to attribute this peculiar feeling to “no good mood”. This plausible explanation failed to satisfy us. Hometown may not have changed, “I” in my heart
