民办院校学生普遍英语基础薄弱、学习自律性低、学习动力不足,这给大学英语教学带来了很多问题和挑战。为此,以Gardner&Lambert以及Dornyei等人的动机相关理论为依据,对宁波大红鹰学院非英语专业的本科生进行了抽样调查及访谈,并对调查和访谈结果进行了分析,全面了解了民办院校非英语专业学生的英语学习动机状况,并就如何激发并维持他们的英语学习动机提出了一些可行的对策。
The weak foundation of English in private colleges and universities, the low self-study ability and lack of motivation in learning bring a lot of problems and challenges to college English teaching. Based on the motivation-related theories of Gardner & Lambert and Dornyei, this paper conducts a sample survey and interviews with non-English major undergraduates at Ningbo Dahongying College and analyzes the results of surveys and interviews, Non-English majors’ English learning motivation, and put forward some feasible countermeasures on how to stimulate and maintain their English learning motivation.
