The Greek Railway is preparing to accept the delivery of 25 DE2000 electric drive diesel locomotives manufactured by ADtranz in September 1997. These locomotives are B0-B0 axle type with a weight of 86t, a power of 2100kW, and a maximum speed of 22km/h and will be used for the mainline operation between Athens and Thessaloniki with an operating speed of 160km/h.
