On January 28, 1932, Japanese imperialists launched a war of aggression in Shanghai. Before and after this, workers in Huxi-Sima Mill held a general strike. This is a historic anti-Japanese strike led by the Chinese Communist Party. This struggle has dealt a heavy blow to Japanese imperialism and effectively supported the Nine Route Army's war of resistance against Japan. However, in the final stage, due to the drastic deterioration of Shanghai's situation and the strategic mistakes in the struggle, the workers suffered losses and paid cost. In recent years, it is obviously not comprehensive enough that some works generally refer to it as a typical failure to strike guided by “leftist” mistakes. This article focuses on the historical background and role of this strike struggle and gives a superficial comment on its strategy of struggle.
