Objective: To understand the latest epidemiological characteristics of cerebral hemorrhage in young and middle-aged patients in our hospital and provide scientific evidence for prevention and treatment of cerebral hemorrhage in young and middle-aged patients. Methods: A retrospective epidemiological analysis was conducted on 636 hospitalized cases of emergent cerebral hemorrhage in young and middle-aged patients from January 2, 2002 to December 31, 2007. Results: The ratio of male to female was 1.60:1.00 in the surveyed patients, more than in females; the most severe cerebral hemorrhage occurred in middle-aged and young adults was 53 years (accounting for 7.40%); the top 4 middle-aged and young cerebral hemorrhage patients were unemployed, The main causes of cerebral hemorrhage in middle-aged and young people were over activity. The primary symptoms of middle-aged and young cerebral hemorrhage were mainly 386 cases (60.69%), 384 cases (60.38%) of dizzy and headache, nausea , Vomiting 325 cases (51.10%), consciousness disturbance 242 cases (38.05%) and aphasia 138 cases (21.70%). The history of hypertension, smoking and drinking history and family history ratio were higher in middle age group than in young age group (P <0.05) Among them, 329 cases (51.73%) were in basal ganglia, followed by 148 cases (23.27%) of cerebral lobe; 432 cases (67.92%) were cured or improved in outcome, 204 cases were unhealed or died 32.08%). Conclusion: Active prevention of cerebral hemorrhage should start with early health education, proper exercise, early control of blood pressure and prompt treatment.
