1989年民兵、预备役政治工作的主要任务是:认真贯彻党的十三届三中全会精神和中央军委有关加强后备力量建设的指示,继续抓好中央(1985)22号文件的落实,深化民兵、预备役政治工作改革,保证民兵、预备役各项任务的完成。一,认真搞好形势教育。各级人武部门要按照党中央、中央军委的部署和要求,在地方党委、政府统一领导下,组织广大干部和民兵、预备役人员认真学习党的十三届三中全会和中央工作会议精神,搞好形势教育,自觉维护党中央的权威,模范遵守党和政府的各项政策、法令,正确认识形势,加强组织纪律性,在治理经济环境、整顿经济秩序、全面深化改革中充分发挥带头作用。
