Two years ago, Monsanto sponsored the Corn Rootworm Research Project to reward outstanding research and academic community projects that contribute to corn rootworm pest and control research. Now that the scholarship fund has reached $ 6 million and 13 research projects are underway, Monsanto has also introduced a new pest management research project that extends pest research to include pests that affect significantly all crop plants throughout the United States. Similar to the previous project, Monsanto’s New Pest Management Research Project (IMKP) provides up to $ 250,000 annually for each award, for up to three years, and awards must help improve overall understanding of pest management. Monsanto will also provide $ 3 million within three years to support public sector pest management research.
