At present, field tests are carried out at the Edmonton Engineering Research Center of Western Canada Oil Field for the machine-site test of downhole oil-water separator system. The system is based on a completely new concept. Its working process is as follows: ① separating the water and oil in the high water cut oil well under it; ② injecting the separated water directly into the subterranean formation; and ③ pumping the separated oil to ground. The superiority of this system lies in: Can increase the oil recovery rate of high water cut oil wells, reduce production costs and reduce investment in water treatment equipment. At this stage of the test is composed of the main components of the system ─ ─ were operating the pump test. With a view to determining and refining the entire system through experiments and launching a commercial system by mid-1995. Pumps used in the experiment were: underground electric submersible pump, cavity pump and rod pump.
