Objective: To observe whether rat glia participated in the process of D-galactose-induced brain aging. Methods: Animal models of aging were established by using D-galactose. The hippocampal oxidative stress was detected by biochemical spectrophotometry. The expression and morphology of hippocampal astrocytes and microglia were observed by immunohistochemistry Variety. Results: Compared with the control group, the level of oxidative stress in hippocampus of rat model group increased, the expression of astrocytes and microglia increased, and the staining increased. Immunofluorescence staining showed that there was coexistence of glial cells and inducible nitric oxide synthase in the model group, and the level of nitric oxide in hippocampus of model group increased. Conclusion: The rat glial cells may be involved in the process of D-galactose-induced brain aging.
