“三个代表”概括了科学社会主义的三个主要因素，三个方面协调发展，统一为一个有机的整体。先进文化联接经济和政治，共同组成有中国特色的社会主义。中国先进文化就是有中国特色的社会主义文化。把握中国先进文化的六个基本特征，才能驾驭好中国先进文化的前进方向。在全面认识、把握“三个代表”思想统一性的基础上，增强“代表先进文化前进方向”的必要性和紧迫性；正确总结党领导思想文化建设的经验教训，用“三个代表”思想武装全党，努力提高自身思想文化素质和执政水平。
The “Three Represents” summarize the three major factors in scientific socialism, and coordinate the development in all three aspects and unify as an organic whole. Advanced culture links economy and politics and jointly forms socialism with Chinese characteristics. China’s advanced culture is a socialist culture with Chinese characteristics. Only by grasping the six basic features of China’s advanced culture can we be able to steer the forward direction of China’s advanced culture well. On the basis of comprehensively understanding and grasping the unity of the thinking of the “three represents,” we must enhance the necessity and urgency of “representing the direction of the advanced culture.” We must correctly sum up the experiences and lessons of the party’s leadership in ideological and cultural construction and use the thinking of the “three represents.” Armed the entire party and strive to improve its own ideological and cultural quality and level of governance.
