When the Egyptians excavated the tombs this century, they found ancient watermelon seeds, melon leaf fragments and watermelon drawings on the tomb. This is by far the earliest watermelon relic seen. It wrote the first page of “Watermelon History.” Soon after, a foreign adventurer, Livingstone, was found deep in the deserted desert of South Africa. There was an oasis where wild wild watermelons were found, and only lions, like rhinos and antelopes, were eating deliciously. The adventurer then proved: “Watermelon is produced in Africa.” But archaeologists think the watermelon came from Egypt, and Egyptians eaten watermelons no later than 5,000 to 6,000 years ago before they reached Central Asia and China.
