QC小组是指在生产或工作岗位上从事各种劳动的职工,围绕企业的方针目标和现场存在的问题,运用质量管理的理论和方法,以改进质量,降低消耗,提高经济效益和人的素质为目的,组织起来开展活动的小组。平顶山一矿开展QC小组活动是在现代化矿井建设和创奖升级过程中发展起来的。几年来,QC小组从无到有,从少到多,发展迅速,效果显著。QC小组数由最初组建的15个,发展到350个,参加人员由200人增加到4000余人,共取得成果837项,创效益1272.3万元。其中,荣获国优称号的QC小组1个,获部、省代的QC小组9个,市、局优的QC小组48个。这些成绩的取得,与他们采取得力措施,狠抓QC小组的普及率、活动率和成果率是分不开的。其主要做法是:
