This paper is based on the Carboniferous materials of China and its neighbouring regions. It summarizes and points out interrelated phenomena associated with the organic evolution, the environmental change and the change of the lowest stratigraphic horizon of biota between high and low latitudes, through the stratigraphic and biologic time correlation. It infers a possible trend in the Carboniferous biomigration based on some events, showing the interrelationship between the biomigration and the environmental change since the Mesozoic Era. It briefly discusses the relations among biomigration, environment and organic evolution, the approaches to the study of biomigration, the non-synchroneity of biotic spatial distribution, the provenance of biota and the significance of dividing the biota into euryhabitat and stenohabitat ones.
