湖北钉螺是日本血吸虫的唯一中间宿主,生物杀螺具有环保、成本较低以及对钉螺定向特异的优点。从鄱阳湖草洲土壤及病螺体内筛选对钉螺具有高毒性作用的细菌,对其进行灭螺试验,发现灭螺效果与温度和菌液浓度关系密切,通过对细菌发酵上清液、菌体、裂解上清液及裂解沉淀物进行12%的SDS-PAGE凝胶电泳,结果进一步表明对钉螺具有毒杀作用的是菌体分泌的一些蛋白分子。
