教育家办学的提出引发社会强烈关注,反映了社会对当下教育与时代发展之间关系的反思和诉求。回顾百年,作为中国教育现代化窗口的上海,先后诞生了一批怀着教育救国强国理念、筚路蓝缕、殚精竭虑的教育家。历史显示,时代无时无刻不在选择教育家,而教育家也在不懈不馁地选择各自在时代中扮演的角色,在现实与理想的反差中将教育作为心血事业。从本期开始,“海上教育家”栏目将与读者共同探讨何为教育家,教育家何为。在师生眼中,马相伯是一位古道热肠的教育家,学生随时可径直去找他,越质疑,马相伯则越发开怀,学术自由蔚然成风。
