Recently, Microsoft announced that starting from July 2008, Bill Gates, its chairman of the board of directors, will no longer be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company and will devote more time to the global health and education efforts of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation . Microsoft set a two-year transition period to ensure that Gates’s day-to-day management responsibilities can be completed smoothly and orderly handover. After July 2008, Gates will continue to serve as chairman of Microsoft’s board of directors and key development project consultant. Admittedly, Microsoft was created by Bill Gates and developed, and his importance to Microsoft is self-evident. So, Microsoft has done what kind of prior preparation? Who is the successor? For the founders to leave, Microsoft’s future what will happen?
