据苏联《水工建设》1978年7期报道,目前自行式水下推土机在国外得到了广泛的使用,可用于推土、松土、运载和开沟等水下作业。 1968年日本已生产适用于7米水深的推土机;1975～1976年日本着手研究40米、50米和60米水深的推土机,目前已进入试验运行阶段。根据资料分析,水下推土机的工作效率比陆上推土机低,但比用其他施工机械高。
