哈密林区中幼林面积7450公顷,占全林区有林地面积的22%;林分郁闭度大都为0.8—0.9。特别是西伯利亚落叶松纯林,林内树木密度很大,如野人沟林区,每公顷林分中树木多达二万株。由于个体遗传特性的差异和所处环境条件的不同,林木分化现象严重。劣势木生长极度缓慢。据树木解剖资料,野人沟林区一株胸径12公分的松树,树龄已达80年。优势木受到劣势木的牵制,生长迟缓。为了改变这种状况,1979—1982年对2638公顷的中幼林进行了抚育间伐,占全林区中幼林总面积的35.4%。
The area of young and middle-aged forest in Haimu Forest is 7450 hectares, accounting for 22% of the total forest area. The forest canopy density is mostly 0.8-0.9. Especially the pure Siberian larch forest, the density of trees in the forest is very large, such as the wild forest area, per hectare of trees in up to 20,000 trees.
