人行走时表现出不同的方式,因而英语中表示行走的动词也有许多。掌握它们的区别,有助于确切地理解句子含义,更有助于准确、生动地描写行走这一动作。1.表示慢速行走的词:stroll,sauter,ramble,stray,roam,rove,wander,meander,hike 是没有目的地“漫步”、“闲逛”、“游荡”、“流浪”。其中,wander,stroll 用得较为普遍,hike 是指“长距离的散步”。例如:(1)After tea,we strolled round the old quarter of the town.
