Guitar Wizards Steve Vai and Ibanez met in the 1980s when Steve Vai played guitar for David Lee Roth. Steve Vai, who made the idea of creating a JEM at that time, gave guitar companies their ideas and asked them to make a guitar. But since the guitar made by Ibanez came to the fore, the cooperation between the two started. The main features of JEM are the processing of “MONKEY GRIP” and “LION’S CLAW” on the body of the RG series, the DiMazio pickup with the [HSH] arrangement, the 21-piece finish machined into a special groove neck, Chordized bridge, mahogany fingerboard (remove JEM777, JEM7VWH), basswood body (except JEM7V). These basic features have not changed for the past 10 years, and for Steve Vai, who always loves new tricks, this is a surprise, but it is also evidence of his satisfaction with the first JEM originally made.
