罗伯特·菲利普森教授(Robert Phillipson),丹麦哥本哈根商学院荣休教授,著名应用语言学家,主要从事语言教育政策与语言规划研究。他从文化帝国主义视角揭示了英语霸权在语言教育中的渗透,提出语言教育政策的批判主义范式。菲利普森教授研究成果丰硕,其代表作有:《语言帝国主义》(Linguistic Imperialism,1992);《唯英语的欧洲?对语言政策的挑战》(English-only Europe?Challenging Language Policy,2003);《语言帝国主义续论》(Linguistic Imperialism Continued,2009)等。2010年,为表彰其在维护和保护语言多样性方面的贡献,他被联合国教科文组织授予linguapax奖,此奖项主要授予在国际语言政策研究和语言问题领域具有杰出贡献者。2015年10月至11月,罗伯特·菲利普森教授作为国家语委高端专家,应邀到上海外国语大学中国外语战略研究中心讲学,我们对他进行了专访,他结合本次访华见闻和国际研究经验,对中国语言教育规划当前热点问题进行批判性思考,提出不少真知灼见。这些观点和见解有助于改善和提升我国语言教育规划的理论与实践水平,本刊现予以刊载,以飨读者。
Robert Phillipson, emeritus professor at Copenhagen Business School in Denmark, a famous applied linguist, is mainly engaged in language education policy and language planning research. From the perspective of cultural imperialism, he revealed the penetration of English hegemony in language education and proposed the critical paradigm of language education policy. Prof. Phillipson has achieved fruitful results. His masterpieces include “Linguistic Imperialism” (1992); “English-only Europe? Challenging Language Policy (2003);” Language Linguistic Imperialism Continued (2009). In 2010, in recognition of his contribution to the preservation and protection of linguistic diversity, he was awarded the linguapax award by UNESCO, which is awarded to those who have made outstanding contributions in the field of international language policy research and language issues. From October to November 2015, Professor Robert Phillipson, as a high-level expert on the SCD, was invited to give lectures at the China Foreign Language Strategic Studies Center at Shanghai International Studies University. We interviewed him. In combination with his visit to China and his international research experience , A critical thinking on the current hot issues of China’s language education planning and put forward many insights. These views and opinions help to improve and upgrade our theoretical and practical level of language education planning. This issue is published in order to readers.
