单模光纤与毛细管光纤(COF)的侧抛耦合不会破坏COF的中央空气孔,使COF可以很方便地用作原子导引或采样管。实验研究了单模光纤与一种新型COF的侧抛耦合,并证明了该种耦合方法切实可行。通过解析方程计算了侧抛光纤剩余包层的厚度与耦合光功率的定量关系,为COF侧抛耦合的进一步研究奠定了基础。另外,侧抛耦合方式可使COF或其他类似微结构光纤应用更广。
Side-throw coupling of single-mode fiber to capillary fiber (COF) does not destroy the central air hole of the COF, making the COF easy to use as an atom-guiding or sampling tube. Experimental study of the single-mode fiber and a new type of COF side-thrown coupling, and proved that this kind of coupling method is feasible. The quantitative relationship between the thickness of the side-polished fiber and the coupling optical power was calculated by solving the equations, which laid the foundation for the further study on the side-thrown COF coupling. In addition, the side-throw coupling method can make COF or other similar microstructured fibers more widely used.
