This paper introduces the development of automatic image analyzer and its main types, and analyzes the mathematical basis of automatic image analyzer operation - stereology and mathematical morphology. And by the Leitz T.A.S. image analyzer in the material of a number of representative examples, illustrates the main application of automatic image analyzer.
