多探测器对空中多目标的辨识和跟踪是在单探测器(主要是雷达)多目标辨识这一课题上发展起来的,已从二个探测器的近地雷达台站、远地雷达台站的研究,到1977年集中指挥的多雷达多目标辨识,最后到近代的多探测器网络的发展,经历了三个阶段。多目标辨识和航迹跟踪的算法大大发展了,功能也更为全面了。
