The National Bureau of Standards of America introduced a new and accurate method for measuring the microwave power density near the antenna. This method utilizes the theory of plane wave scattering matrix, complemented by a graphical representation of the test results. The discrete values of the radiation plane spectrum or the far field map of the antenna are entered for calculation. The test results are compared with the exact near field test of a particular antenna to obtain a consistent result.
