153例前列腺切除术病人,比较其术前及术后3年的性功能,发现性功能有明显减退。手术前72例(46.7％)能性交;术后3年仅51例(33.1％)能性交。性交频率也从每月平均4.3次降至2.9次。其原因可能由于年龄增长而老化,致睾酮降低、促性腺激素升高;勃起时fromboxane B_2水平升高诱发血小板聚集;血催乳素轻度升高,丧偶等心理状态改变;体力衰退;性交时配偶不舒服;部分是由于勃起不足。不是由于泌尿系问题所引起。其中经尿道手术对性功能的影响较标准切除法为少。(黄平治摘译)
