二人台艺术在发展传承中受到以山西为代表的华夏传统文化和以黄河河套内外为代表的蒙古族游牧文化的影响。其中华夏传统文化对二人台的产生和发展起了至关重要的作用,无论是歌词、曲调、乐器上,还是二人台剧种的文化意味和审美情趣上,我们都能明显地感受到“赛社演剧”这种祈福禳灾祭祀先人的传统习俗的痕迹。产生于农耕文化的二人台,在其形成和发展过程中,又吸收了牧区、半农半牧区蒙古族音乐的成分。最突出的表现就是风搅雪这种蒙汉语言夹杂交织的演唱形式。可以说,二人台艺术,是农耕文化和草原文化相互交织碰撞的结果。
