一、书名《本草图经》,是指药图与说明文合一而言.《本草纲目》卷一序例“历代诸家本草”,所列本草书名有42种,其中第23种,即是本书.李时珍题作《图经本草》.但《大观本草》、《政和本草》卷一序例上收载本书序,题作《本草图经序》;卷十狼把草条,有掌禹锡谨按云:“书于《本草图经》外类篇首云”;卷末收载宋代民间药,亦题《本草图经》本经外草类七十五种,《本草图经》本经外木蔓类二十五种.据此可知,苏颂当初编纂此书时,用的书名是《本草图经》,而不是《图经本草》.由于《大观》、《政和》流传远不及《本草纲目》广泛,因此一般文献引用此书皆题《图经本草》.为着恢复苏颂编著此书原始用名.笔者辑校本仍采用《本草图经》为正名. 二、特点 1.内容特点该书内容广泛而充实,科学性强,合辨药与用药于一书,“叙物真滥,使人易知;原诊
