Musk is a valuable crude drug collected by the Japanese Pharmacopoeia. Due to its scarce resources and high price, it is often mixed with fake or adulterated products. Therefore, it is eagerly hopeful to identify the quality of crude drugs and quality control of preparations. Develop a suitable method of quality assessment. Previous methods for identification of crude drugs were dry weight loss method, ash determination method, etc. Although the Bureau provided for capillary analysis of ethanol extracts, these methods were not clearly related to the components contained in Musk, so lack of reliability.
