在肥桃产区的肥城市，从每年的４月底至６月中旬，肥桃新梢大量功能叶片脱落．落叶常伴有蜜腺处变褐．经过对蜜腺处褐斑分离与接种试验．未得到致病菌．喷布不同种类的杀菌剂．亦未能减轻落叶发生．摘除新梢顶尖及蜜腺，落叶减轻．据此认为肥桃早期落叶不是侵染性病害．
