The coplanar Compact Photonic Band Gap (UC_PBG) structure is a kind of periodic planar structure with a microstrip substrate as the carrier.The dielectric substrate is taken as an anisotropic medium and analyzed by using the straight line method, and the implementation of the method is described in detail The calculation of UC_PBG for different media parameters shows that there is even a wide bandgap in these UC_PBG band structures.
