黑唐卡作为宗教艺术而存在,它最善于表现的是藏传佛教密宗神灵动态夸张、表情激愤,神态威猛的忿怒身。他们多是由佛、菩萨变化而来保护佛教不受外敌侵犯,或是针对妨碍修法被称为“无明”的不正之见和邪魔恶念的威慑和警示。这种对于单一色彩黑色的虔诚与特殊的宗教表现题材构成了黑唐卡独特的审美品格与价值。
Black Thangka exists as a religious art, and it is most adept at showing the anger of the Tantric Gods in Tibetan Buddhism that is exaggerated, angry and distracted. Mostly they are changed by Buddha and Bodhisattva to protect Buddhism from being violated by foreign enemies or against deterrence and warnings of wrongdoing and evil delusions that are known as “ignorance ”. This kind of religious and special religious expression subject to single color black constitutes the unique aesthetic character and value of the black thangka.
