冲压发动机既不是新技术,也不是一种成熟的推进装置。早期的方案差不多可以追溯到本世纪初,然而,仅在最近几年才把技术和应用的潜力结合起来,促使它作为一种推进装置开始积极发展。它所以复活,有许多原因,其中之一就是整体式火箭冲压发动机的出现。冲压发动机最简单的形式是一种两端开口的管子,这样,它不向前运动就不能产生推力。因而,必须用某种辅助装置把冲压发动机加速到某一速度,使它在这个速度下能够产生前进推力。为了做到这一点,已设计出多种方法。
Stamping engine is neither a new technology nor a mature propulsion device. Early programs date almost back to the beginning of this century, however, only the potential of technology and applications has been combined in recent years, prompting it to begin to develop aggressively as a propulsion device. So it is resurrected for many reasons, one of which is the advent of integral rocket ramjet. The simplest form of a ramjet engine is a tube that is open at both ends so that it does not generate thrust without moving forward. Accordingly, the ramjet must be accelerated to a speed with some sort of assistive device to enable it to generate forward thrust at this speed. To do this, a number of approaches have been devised.
