理性是西方文学的一个重要概念和重要传统。人是感性的动物,更是理性的生灵,人之所以为人,在于人的情感和欲望,更在于人的智慧和理性。文学即人学,西方文学以探讨人和人生见长。西方文学史就是一部人的精神发展史,一部关于人的欲望与理性不断反拨与调整的历史,一部不断探索人的善境的历史。本文试图对从古希腊罗马文学到古典主义文学理性观念的发展中,探析西方文学“人”的观念的发展变化。
Rationality is an important concept and important tradition of Western literature. Man is a sensual animal, but also a rational creature. People are human beings. They are people’s emotions and desires, but also human wisdom and reason. Literature that is human, Western literature to explore human and human growth. Western literary history is a history of human spiritual development, a history of people’s desires and rationales continued to call back and adjust, a history of continuous exploration of the goodness of human beings. This article attempts to analyze the development and change of the concept of western literature and “people” from the development of ancient Greek and Roman literature to the rational concept of classical literature.
