In order to investigate the minimum steady-state combustion space of a micro-burner with a porous medium wall as the inlet wall, an experiment was carried out to ignite and flame with methane / air premixed flames as the target. In the experiment, the controllable temperature copper plate which is parallel to the surface of porous media was used to simulate the combustion chamber wall. Effects of copper wall temperature on ignition distance and flameout distance were investigated in detail when different fuel equivalence ratios and premixed gas flow rates were used. The experimental results show that the ignition ratio is the easiest to ignite when the equivalent ratio is between 0.9 and 1.0. With the same equivalence ratio, the ignition distance decreases first and then increases with the increase of the premixed gas flow rate. With the increase of the temperature of the flat wall, the ignition distance and the flameout distance decrease at the same time. The analysis shows that the hot flameout is the main factor of flameout.
