玉米螟是我省玉米作物的一种主要害虫,分布在全省各地,为害损失严重。从1953年开始,经过五年来的连续防治,虽然取得一定成绩,为害损失由26.5%降低到18%,但是仍不能达到预期效果,有时仍遭到严重损失。主要原因:第一是彻底防治的面积小,一般仅是几个重点乡、社,即使防治的很好,重点以外的螟虫也会飞迁进来。第二是防治的不彻底,不全面,只处理了玉米秸杆,而忽视了对玉米穗轴、谷草、高梁秸等的处理工作,致使每年仍有一部分螟虫安全过多。第三是部分地区对防
