This article describes a new type of dynamic random access memory cell that combines three diodes to form a composite structure. In the new three diode memory cells, one diode serves as a storage capacitor and the remaining two serve as switches. The memory cell requires only three interconnects and can be fabricated using standard bipolar processes. The memory cell write, read and wait for the operation were analyzed and simulated.
