Objective To quantitatively evaluate the motor function of upper limbs in patients with acute cerebral infarction using acceleration recorder. Methods Forty-eight patients with cerebral infarction and hemiplegia were enrolled in this study. The upper extremity function was assessed using Fugl-Meyer Scale (FMA) and Functional Independence Scale (FIM) at 4 weeks after admission. Another wrist wearing hemispherical wrist-type accelerometer wrist 5 d, the average activity during the day and to assess the trend of change parameters (DFA), the scale scores and parameters were analyzed. Results After 4 weeks of treatment, the scores of FMA, daytime activities and DFA parameters in patients were significantly improved (P <0.05), and there was a good correlation between DFA parameters and FMA and FIM scales. Conclusion The average activity recorded by acceleration log and DFA parameters can objectively and quantitatively evaluate the motor function of upper limbs in patients with cerebral infarction.
