Total knee replacement ( TKR ) is a well-relognized treatment method for osteoarthritis. Recurrent haemarthrosis is a relatively rare but troublesome complication ( up to 1.6% of patients ) following TKR. Some causes are related to direct trauma of blood vessels, others are more obscure and may be difficult to diagnose. The purpose of this review is to give an overview of this complication and summarize the current methods of management.
