在国内外关于创造性思维的理论研究中,发散思维占有极为重要的地位。本文对这一传统见解提出了异议,认为幅合思维是创造性思维的本质。理由是,创造性思维是通过知识运动来体现的,而知识运动处在不断的组合之中;创造性思维又通过人脑的运动来体现,人脑运动虽然复杂但仍由物理等低级运动形式组成,它必须遵循物理运动的某些规律。基于这样的认识,作者假设,在思维空间中,知识本是在混沌中相对有序的,当创造命题确定后,与命题有关的知识相互吸引,形成一个由多种知识为单元的相对混沌的知识团。各种知识在创造性思维中为寻找合理的组合相互排斥、吸引,从而引起知识团的旋转。知识团质量越大,其运动速度也越快,方向就越专一。据此,创造性思维中知识团旋转的轴端也应指向思维空间中的某一方向不变。作者还对发散思维与幅合思维的本质作了区别,认为这两者在运动中产生的能量性质截然不同,唯有幅合思维才能纠合众多知识有效地作用于某一客体,而实现预期的创造目的。
