《红楼梦》第21回的前半回回目是“贤袭人娇嗔箴宝玉”,写袭人以己之娇媚,假装生气,规劝宝玉。宝玉见袭人不理睬他,就说:“我又怎么了?你又劝我。你劝我也罢了,才刚又没见你劝我,一进来你就不理我,赌气睡了。我还摸不着是为什么,这会子你又说我恼了。我何尝听见你劝我什么话了。”袭人道:“你心里还不明白,还等我说呢!”庚辰本《脂砚斋重评石头记》在宝玉和袭人的这段对话上面有一条眉批:
