Electromagnetic radiation processes for producing high transverse momentum(pT) dileptons play a fundamental role in relativistic Au+Au collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and Pb+Pb collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).Since lepton only participates in the electromagnetic interaction, the dileptons produced in heavy ion collisions can pass through the collision region and reach the detectors directly.Consequently, the measurement of the dileptons can test the predictions of perturbative quantum chromodynamics (pQCD),and probe the quark-gluon plasma (QGP).
